Located in the scenic rolling hills of Buckingham County, Virginia, our facility is dedicated to providing quality horse care and education. We pride ourselves in creating a safe environment for our students to learn horsemanship and sportsmanship while providing the best care possible to our equine family on a daily basis.
Full Care Board with a stall,
Pasture board, and Retirement Board are available options. Our boarding includes daily health checks, blanketing, fly masks, twice daily feeding and more.
Our OPEN Horse Show Series is VHSA and BRHF Sanctioned. We have classes for hunters, english, western, gaited, ranch, driving and a leadline division.
English, Western, Showmanhip, Trail and Driving lessons are available from Certified Horsemanship Association Certified Instructors and PATH Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructors.
4-H club membership is free and open to the public. It is a great way to learn more about horses and participate in horse-related activities.
We host day half-day camps for 4-7 year olds, day camps for beginner and intermediate riders, and advanced rider over-night camps.
We are a 501 c-3 non-profit therapeitic riding program. Click here to DONATE or VOLUNTEER with us to make a difference in a child's life.
2 hour birthday parties include pony rides, games, prizes and decorations.
Our beef is raised hormone and antibiotic-free on grass not treated with chemicals.

Our Business opened in June of 2008. The 81 acre ranch has been part of the Sprouse Family for many generations. In fact, the great-great-great grandfather of LaRue Sprouse Dowd (the grandfather of E.B. Sprouse I, the founder of Sprouse's Corner) is buried at the Sprouse Family Cemetary located on the Ranch.
LaRue Sprouse Dowd is the owner/manager of the Ranch. She is a Level II CHA Certified Instructor and Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship International CTRI (Certifie Therapeutic Riding Instructor), as well as a Registered Veterinary Technician. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Equine Therapy and an Associate Degree in Veterinary Technology. She and her family live on the Ranch, and they are all involved in the maintenence and care of the resident horses, chickens, cows and dogs.
